Attire

Below you will find suggested descriptions of what to wear to each event and where to find Indian attire. Please note that these are just recommendations! You are more than welcome to wear whatever style you are most comfortable in. We're just so thrilled you will be joining us!!

Pithi: Beach Casual

Women: Salwar kameez, shararas, anarkalis, indo-western sets
Western wear
Men: Slacks or shorts, button downs, soft collared shirts
Women: Sundresses, skirts or shorts with tops, rompers
The Pithi ceremony is traditionally associated with the color yellow, as turmeric, the bright yellow spice, plays a central role in the ritual. Yellow is considered auspicious and symbolizes purity, prosperity, and happiness.
Therefore, we invite all of our guests to wear yellow or similar colors to this event!

Welcome Party & Mehndi: Dressy Casual

Baraat, Wedding, & Garba: Cocktail (Formal Optional)

Indian wear
Men: Kurtas, modi jackets, sherwanis, nehru jackets
Women: Sarees, lehengas
Western wear
Men: Suits, business casual
Women: Cocktail dresses, formal dresses, jumpsuits
When selecting your Indian wear for these events, we recommend choosing an outfit made of a lighter material, as all of these events will be held outside, and the baraat (mid-day) and garba (nighttime) involve lots of dancing! For those wearing heavier materials to the baraat and ceremony, you are more than welcome to change before the garba for optimal mobility and dancing conditions!
Women should avoid wearing red/maroon to these events

Cocktail Hour & Reception: Formal

Indian wear
Men: Sherwanis, bandhgala suits, nehru jackets
Women: Sarees, lehengas, indo-western outfits
Western wear
Men: Suits
Women: Floor length, tea length, or midi formal dresses, jumpsuits
It is very customary for guests to wear western attire to Indian receptions!
Women should avoid wearing white to these events
